Rep. Mo Brooks plans to challenge the Electoral College vote, seeking support from a Senator

According to Politico reporter Melania Zanona Republican Rep. Mo Brooks plans to challenge the Electoral College votes if Congress formally certifies Joe Biden as the winner January 6th.

Whether Brooks does this may be contingent on whether he can get a GOP Senator to join him in the long-shot effort. According to Zanona, he’s had “indirect” talks with Senators but no-one has committed yet. According to JustheNews “to trigger such a legislative effort, at least one member from the House and the Senate must challenge the results of the Electoral College vote.”

Brooks told Politico “in my judgment, if only lawful votes by eligible American citizens were cast, Donald Trump won the Electoral College by a significant margin, and Congress’s certification should reflect that. He added “this election was stolen by the socialists engaging in extraordinary voter fraud and election theft measures.”

Last week Brooks tweeted “IMHO, Joe Biden DID NOT win lawful vote majority in Georgia. Per its right & duty, Congress should reject any Georgia submission of 16 electoral college votes for Joe Biden. That is EXACTLY what I hope to help do. See below lawsuit for more! SORDID!”
