Rachel Nichols removed from NBA finals coverage after controversy over “diversity” comments

Rachel Nichols has been removed from the NBA finals coverage after her her comments fellow sportscaster Maria Taylor, who is black.

Nichols was caught alleging that ABC had selected her Black colleague to cover the finals because ESPN was “feeling the pressure” on the issue of diversity.

“I wish Maria Taylor all the success in the world — she covers football, she covers basketball,” Nichols was caught on camera saying.  “If you need to give her more things to do because you are feeling pressure about your crappy longtime record on diversity — which, by the way, I know personally from the female side of it — like, go for it. Just find it somewhere else”.

“You are not going to find it from me or taking my thing away,” she added.

Now, Taylor will replace Nichols for the NBA finals coverage.

This comes after Nichols apologized to Taylor on air.
