In a tweet he has now apparently either deleted or made private, Canadian political science professor Emmett Macfarlane wrote “Burn Congress down before letting Trump try to appoint anyone to SCOTUS.”
A screenshot of the tweet was shared by Andy Ngo, a journalist who covers riots and violence by Antifa. Several other Twitter users also had screenshots of Macfarlane’s tweet.

Sharing other profanity laced tweets from Macfarlane, one Twitter user wrote “One could only imagine the level of discourse in one of his classes.
Ppl are paying @UWaterloo thousands of dollars to have Emmett Macfarlane teach their kids, and this is the insight they’re getting #cdnpoli”

Macfarlane writes on his personal website “I am a political scientist whose research examines the relationships between rights, governance and public policy, with a particular focus on the Supreme Court of Canada’s impact on public policy and political discourse under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.”
Similarly to Macfarlane, former CNN “Believer” host Reza Aslan wrote “If they even TRY to replace RBG we burn the entire f*cking thing down.”
