President Biden apologizes to chief of National Guard Bureau amid outrage

According to a report from the NY Times, President Joe Biden has apologized after some members of the National Guard stationed at the Capitol were pictured sleeping in a tightly packed car park.

President  Biden called the chief of the National Guard Bureau to apologize after videos and images quickly went viral online and sparked outrage.

Biden also reportedly asked what could be done to help these National Guard members.

Senator Tim Scott tweeted:

Our troops deserve the utmost honor & respect for securing the Capitol & defending democracy this week.

This is unconscionable & unsafe. Whoever’s decision this was to house our National Guardsmen & women in underground parking lots must be held accountable.
