POLL: Majority of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of the border

A new Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday find the majority of Americans (55%) disapprove of President Biden’s handling of the Mexican border.

In contrast, only 29% of Americans approved with 15 percent not offering an opinion.

Quinnipiac University polling analyst Tim Malloy said “Though he gets generally positive numbers on his domestic strides as he nears his first 100 days in office, the president is confronting the same political quagmire south of the border that bedeviled his predecessor. The border with Mexico, and the people trying to cross it, loom as a familiar crisis.”

House Republicans tweeted Thursday “This crisis was exclusively created by President Biden when he, with the stroke of a pen right when he took the oath of office, undid policies that were working to control our southern border.”

Earlier this month, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi claimed “We’re on a good path at the border under the leadership of President Biden.”
