POLL: Less than a quarter of Americans approve of Biden’s handling of Afghanistan military operations

According to a new Trafalgar poll, the majority of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of the U.S. military in Afghanistan.

The poll found 69% Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of the U.S.’s military presence in Afghanistan that resulted in the Taliban taking over.

A scant 23% approved.

The poll broke down by party lines, but even Democrats gave Biden poor marks.

48% of Democrats disapproved of Biden’s handling of Afghanistan, compared to only 40% who approve.

89% of Republicans disapprove, compared to only 7% who approve.

Per The Hill “the poll was conducted just as the Taliban was completing its takeover of the Afghan capital Kabul.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi claimed President Biden “is to be commended for the clarity of purpose of his statement on Afghanistan and his action.”

“The Taliban must know the world is watching its actions. We are concerned about reports regarding the Taliban’s brutal treatment of all Afghans, especially women and girls,” she added. The statement received pushback and mockery from conservatives.
