Planned Parenthood fumes over Barrett nomination, declares “Nominating Barrett is an insult to RBG’s legacy”

Not long after President Trump formally nominated Amy Coney Barrett for the Supreme Court, Planned Parenthood launched a series of attacks.

Planned Parenthood wrote on their official Twitter account “Amy Coney Barrett is a threat to our reproductive rights and health care. Nominating Barrett is an insult to RBG’s legacy and everything she spent her life fighting for.”

They added “This is the people’s court, the people’s seat. #LetThePeopleDecide

Planned Parenthood CEO Alexis McGill Johnson wrote “The fact that President Trump has nominated anyone to fill Justice Ginsburg’s Supreme Court seat in this moment of national crisis is a direct threat to our health and rights and a disgrace to our democracy.”

Planned Parenthood added “Mitch McConnell is rushing to confirm a SCOTUS nominee in less than 40 days — when the Senate has gone 120+ days without passing COVID-19 relief. There are 7 million COVID cases, & people are suffering while they play political games. No confirmation until inauguration. #OurCourt”

The organization then listed Barrett in a group of Justices they believe “would likely put abortion access at risk.”

Planed Parenthood also retweeted the “Human Rights Campaign” writing:

Our rights are at risk.
Our LGBTQ rights.
Our health care.
Our access to voting.
Our education.
Our reproductive rights.
Our immigration rights.
Our disability rights.
Our ability to live freely.

There should be no nominee and no vote until after inauguration. #OurCourt
