Pelosi Tweets “Don’t Mess with the USPS” After $25 Billion Bill Passes

Saturday, they House passed a $25 billion funding for the U.S. Postal service in a bill that turns back new measures aimed at cutting costs and banning an efforts to slow down the mail until at least 2021.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi shortly after “Today, in a bipartisan vote, the House passed the Delivering for America Act, critical legislation to reverse the President’s damage and provide $25 billion to the @USPS.”

She added “We are committed to protecting this essential service for all Americans. #DontMessWithUSPS”


The bill passed by a vote of 257-150. 26 Republicans joined Democrats.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw wrote in response to the passing of the bill “What are we voting on today? Not protection for small businesses. Not help for unemployed Americans. Not anything to help a country still struggling.”

He added “No. Today we are voting on a $25 billion bill to help Democrats push a shameless conspiracy theory. Good work Speaker Pelosi”

Rep. Ted Lieu wrote “Dear @realDonaldTrump: You lie. The Board of @USPS, composed of your appointees, requested $25 billion in funding earlier this year.”

“The many Americans in rural areas and those who depend on mail delivery for prescription drugs & Social Security checks also know you are lying” he added.

Saturday morning before the vote, Rep. Carolyn Maloney who led the bill shared a video and wrote “@USPS provides a critical lifeline by providing universal access to medications, supplies and mail for every single American, no matter where you live. In just a few hours, the House will pass my legislation blocking the Trump”
