Pelosi to Finally Transmit Articles, Collins Promises “Quick Death” to Impeachment

Facing mounting pressure to transmit the articles including from her own party, Pelosi signaled she will transmit the articles of impeachment next week.

“I have asked Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler to be prepared to bring to the Floor next week a resolution to appoint managers and transmit articles of impeachment to the Senate,” Pelosi wrote in the letter. “I will be consulting with you at our Tuesday House Democratic Caucus meeting.”

Wapo reporter Rachel Bade tweeted:

BREAKING: PELOSI announces in DEAR COLLEAGUES letter that she will transmit articles next week to the Senate.

(w/out a witness commitment or seeing the “arena” she wanted to see from McConnell in a resolution)

Georgia Republican Rep. Doug Collins reacted on Fox News and promised a “quick death” to impeachment once the articles have been transmitted.

Democrats would need at least 20 GOP Senators to vote to remove President Trump, a feat that is considered to be all but impossible.
