2020 Presidential hopefuls including Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Kirsten Gillibrand and Cory Booker all continue to beat the drum on “Trump Impeachment.”
The severity of this misconduct demands that elected officials in both parties set aside political considerations and do their constitutional duty. That means the House should initiate impeachment proceedings against the President of the United States.

It's time for Congress to begin impeachment hearings and follow the facts. Robert Mueller clearly expects Congress to exercise its constitutional authority and take steps that he could not. We can't let the president defy basic accountability measures built into our Constitution.

Robert Mueller’s statement makes it clear: Congress has a legal and moral obligation to begin impeachment proceedings immediately.

However, Nancy Pelosi believes the idea may be bad for the party, since even if it passes the House, it’s quite unlikely the republican controlled Senate would fail to acquit Trump.
In fact, Pelosi believes Trump may want to be impeached, to make his exoneration public.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., says she believes President Donald Trump actually wants to be impeached so the Senate could clear him.
She made her comments on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Thursday night.
“I think the president wants us to impeach him,” Pelosi said. “He knows it’s not a good idea to be impeached, but the silver lining for him is then, he believes, that he would be exonerated by the United States Senate.
“And there is a school of thought that says, ‘If the Senate acquits you, why bring charges against him in the private sector when he’s no longer president?’ So when we go through with our case, it’s got to be ironclad. Ironclad.”
Pelosi maintained the Republican Senate is “completely in the pocket of Donald Trump.” And she noted that not one GOP lawmaker in the Senate has “spoken up.”
Meanwhile, she said House Democrats are doing what they can to gather information.” The public deserves to know the truth,” Pelosi said.
