Pelosi re-appoints Eric Swalwall to Homeland Security Committee

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has re-appointed Rep. Eric Swalwell to the Homeland Security Committee despite the controversy over his former connection to an alleged Chinese spy.

Swalwell tweeted “I’m honored and excited to rejoin active service on
@HomelandDems, where I plan to focus on highlighting and finding solutions to the scourge of white nationalist extremism.”

He added “my committee memberships—along with my experience as a prosecutor and as the son and brother of law enforcement officers—will give me a unique opportunity to delve into one of America’s most serious national security threats.”

One Twitter user who supports Swalwell tweeted “I respect you beyond words, @RepSwalwell! Thank you for your clearsighted, ethical service!!”

Steve Howe replied mockingly “Will Fang be working with you?”
