Pelosi praises U.S. Withdrawal from Afghanistan, calls it as “remarkable”

Speaking to reporters Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi referred to the Biden-ordered U.S. Withdrawal from Afghanistan as “remarkable.”

This is despite the rapid takeover of the Taliban, 13 U.S. Service members killed in Kabul and at over 100 Americans who want to leave left behind in Afghanistan.

Pelosi praised Biden for the “the historic evacuation of 120,000 people,” saying “I commend the administration for that.”

The House Speaker also insisted Biden “made the right decision to leave Afghanistan.”

Meanwhile, according to a recent NPR/PBS poll a large majority (71%) label the U.S. role in Afghanistan a “failure.”’
