Pelosi announces 2nd Republican appointment to January 6th Committee

Sunday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the appointment of Representative Adam Kinzinger to the January 6th Committee.

Kinzinger is a staunch critic of former President Trump and will be the second Republican to join the committee.

The first, Rep. Liz Cheney, is also an outspoken critic of Trump.

Both Kinzinger and Cheney were the only 2 Republicans to vote in favor of a bill creating the select committee.

“It is imperative that we get to the truth of that day and ensure that such an attack can never again happen,” Pelosi said. Kinzinger will bring “great patriotism to the Committee’s mission: to find the facts and protect our Democracy.”

This appointment of Kinzinger comes after Pelosi outright rejected the appointment of Rep. Jim Banks and Jim Jordan.
