Omar’s Campaign Has Paid Her New Husband’s Firm Over Half a Million Dollars

Ilhan Omar’s newly revealed marriage is bringing up controversy over the fact her campaign paid his firm over half a million dollars.

Per DailyWire, new reports are raising more questions about Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and her then-campaign consultant Tim Mynett, who heads the E Street Group.

“Since 2018, Omar’s campaign paid about $586,000 to E Street Group for a range of services that included digital advertising, fundraising consulting, digital communications and design. The campaign also paid $7,000 to Mynett directly for fundraising consulting before hiring his consulting firm,” The Washington Post reports.

Payments to the firm in the 2019-2020 cycle for Omar’s reelection campaign comprised 40 percent of total campaign expenses, federal filings show.

Representatives for Omar’s campaign and Mynett’s firm said this week that there was nothing improper about the payments because they were made for legitimate work.

Per TCO, Ilhan Omar recently openly shared that she’s now married to the consultant whose company her campaign is paying who vehemently denied having an affair with her.

Per TheSun, news of a rumored romance between the Trump-hating Dem and 38-year-old Mynett emerged last August when his ex-wife, Dr Beth Mynett, 55, filed for divorce.

FOX 9 obtained court documents in which Mynett’s former spouse said his travel and extensive work hours were “more related to his affair with Omar than to his actual work commitments.”

Omar’s new marital squeeze blasted his ex-wife’s claims in court, saying it was an effort to ruin his reputation, according to documents cited by the New York Post.

“Since the time of Mr. Mynett’s departure from the marital home, Ms. Mynett began a negative campaign against Mr. Mynett,” court records stated.

In her divorce filing, Beth Mynett claimed her husband left their marriage after professing his love for Omar and wasn’t able to salvage their relationship.

“The parties physically separated on or about April 7, 2019, when Defendant told Plaintiff that he was romantically involved with and in love with another woman, Ilhan Omar,” the court papers said.

But Mynett said his wife’s explosive claims about an affair was “an effort to ruin his career and permanently damage his relationship with William and his step-daughter.”

“Mr. Mynett denies that he told Ms. Mynett he was leaving the marriage for Representative Ilhan Omar (‘Rep. Omar’) or that he was in love with her,” the documents stated.

DailyMail reports leftist congresswoman Ilhan Omar has married her fundraising chief, she has announced.

Her wedding to Tim Mynett happened earlier this week, DailyMail.com understands.

She announced the wedding in an Instagram post, which was accompanied by the couple in a romantic pose. The couple, both of whom divorced their previous spouses late last year, tied the knot at an undisclosed location.

Got married! From partners in politics to life partners, so blessed. Alhamdulillah ❤️

‘From partners in politics to life partners. So blessed,’ the Minnesota congresswoman wrote on her Instagram account under the black and white photograph.

The couple were wearing the same rings that DailyMail.com pictured them wearing  in Washington, D.C. last week.

Both Omar, 37 and Mynett — whose company received more than $500,000 last year from her campaign — initially denied they were having an affair.

But sources in the Somali community in Minneapolis say she was forced into announcing the nuptials because of articles on DailyMail.com.

‘She sent this picture to a friend saying she wanted to announce her wedding because the reporting of the Daily Mail had been so accurate,’ said one Somali leader.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune said the couple had married ‘in the Islamic faith’.

Omar has had a complicated marriage history, including allegations that she married her own brother.

She married her first husband, Ahmed Hirsi in 2002 in an Islamic ceremony that — like many in the Somali community was not registered with state authorities — and had two children with him.

But in 2009 she married British citizen Ahmed Elmi in a civil ceremony in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. She said she had an Islamic divorce from Hirsi before that ceremony.

Her marriage to Elmi allowed him to get student loans to attend North Dakota State University — an issue that is now being probed by the FBI, DailyMail.com has learned.

She and Elmi — who now lives in east Africa — split in 2011, but did not divorce until 2017, the year before she again married Hirsi, with whom she had already had a third child.

But Hirsi and Omar divorced in November last year after he had flown to Washington, D.C. to pay her a surprise visit — only to find her in her apartment with Mynett, both of them wearing only pajamas.

Mynett, 38, was married to Dr. Beth Jordan, the head of the District of Columbia prison system’s medical team. They divorced a month after Omar did.

Mynett clapped his hands in glee as he left their divorce hearing in Washington, where his wife tried to read out a statement saying he had stunned her the previous April.

There was no immediate response to DailyMail.com from Omar’s spokesman.

Omar, who represents a district based in Minneapolis, has long denied an affair with Mynett.
