On Monday, Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar took to social media to bluntly label Trump adviser Stephen Miller as “a white nationalist,” and calling his continued employment with the administration “an outrage.”
“Stephen Miller is a white nationalist,” said Omar, “The fact that he still has influence on policy and political appointments is an outrage,” in regards to a recent story claiming Miller was influential in the president’s decision regarding a possible ICE nominee.

Since her election to Congress during the 2018 midterms, Omar has drawn mounting backlash for a series of critical of Israel, Jewish-American politicians, and President Trump.
Omar’s remarks came following Trump’s recent vows to take US immigration policy “in a tougher direction,” as well as the resignation of DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen on Sunday.
