In a teaser clip of his 60 minutes interview, former President Barack Obama accuses Trump and Republicans of “delegitimizing” the incoming Biden administration and democracy.
Obama says Trump’s claims of election fraud appear to be because “the president doesn’t like to lose and never admits loss.”
“I’m more troubled by the fact that other Republican officials who clearly know better are going along with this, are humoring him in this fashion,” he continued.
“It is one more step in delegitimizing not just the incoming Biden administration, but democracy generally. And that’s a dangerous path,” he added.
During a recent appearance, Republican Senator Marco Rubio fired back at “those in the media who are angry that Republicans won’t just take their word for it that Biden won.”
“I think you need some self-awareness,” Rubio said “you spent four years claiming Russians hacked the last election. You supported Democrats when they went to court to overturn the Governor’s race in Georgia in 2018 and you say nothing when to this day they claim that they won that race.”
