Wednesday, the White House correspondents association issued the following statement via Twitter. The news organization they are referring to is OANN, a news network considered by nearly all to be more “pro-Trump” than mainstream news.
Per Alex Salvi, he decision was reportedly made after @OANN White House reporter Chanel Rion attended the briefing as a guest of Press Secretary Grisham.
The WHCA claims her attendance violated its social distancing policies.

Per Fox News, OANN’s White House correspondent Chanel Rion was seen at Wednesday’s briefing asking questions while standing at the back of the briefing room.
According to OANN anchor Alex Salvi, Rion was invited as a special guest of White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham.
OANN, Rion, and the White House did not immediately respond to Fox News’ requests for comment.
Pro-Trump Twitter users rushed to condemn the move.
The White House press corps has voted to ban OANN from Trump's press conferences. The ONLY network that isn't out to destroy Trump is now uninvited.
Trump is right…
Enemy of the people.

I thought it was a joke, but the WHCA really has banned OANN from the White House press conferences. What the hell kind of crap is that? Obviously Trump should override this stupid decision and give OANN somebody else's seat.

During a recent exchange with Rion, President Trump said “OAN, you treat me very nicely, go on.”
