NYT Report says McConnell “pleased about impeachment” and discussing with Biden

According to a new NY Times report “Senator Mitch McConnell is said to believe President Trump committed impeachable offenses, and to be pleased Democrats are moving to impeach him.”

Jonathan Martin of the NY Times writes “Senator Mitch McConnell is said to believe President Trump committed impeachable offenses, and to be pleased Democrats are moving to impeach him.”

He adds “McCarthy has asked colleagues if he should urge Trump to resign, is open to a censure .”

Martin added in a subsequent tweet “ALSO: Biden called McConnell yesterday and asked if Senate could dual track impeachment trial and cabinet confirmations.

Far from telling Biden he would not discuss the impeachment, McConnell said he would check with the parliamentarian and get back to Biden.”
