NYC Man arrested after being caught on video attempting daytime rape

Jose Reyes, a 31 year old man from the Bronx has been arrested after being caught on video attempting a disgusting daytime rape at a subway platform with others present.

Reyes pounced on a woman 11am Saturday on the subway platform at Lexington Avenue and East 63rd street.

Bystanders saw him and screamed for him to get off her.

Rodney Harrison of the NYPD said “This heinous and horrendous act was interrupted by a good Samaritan who observed Mr. Reyes’ behavior and got him to cease his behavior while subsequently videotaping the incident.”

The woman said the man was smoking what appeared to be hookah and making “weird noises” and laughing to himself.

He then followed her and pounced on her, climbing on her and attempting to spread her legs.

Reyes has a criminal record, with prior charges including  robbery, grand larceny, petty larceny, assault of a police officer and others.
