NY AG Letitia James accuses Trump of “an act of sedition”

Appearing on “The Dean Obeidallah Show” NY AG Letitia James accused President Trump of “an act of sedition” and ” engaging in illegality.”

Reacting to reports that Trump had a meeting with Michael Flynn where Flynn proposed enacting Martial Law, a report that Trump himself has disputed, James said “The days of President Trump are closely coming to an end. And the reality is is that this is an act of sedition.”

She elaborated by saying “this president is engaging in illegality, and the fact that he would even consider martial law is an affront to our values and to the Constitution. The people have spoken, and he should accept the outcome of the election, as opposed to trying to find fraud where none exists.”

“He’s in the White House, and he stews on the fact that he’s a loser, and he lost this election, and unfortunately, he’s finding it hard to accept. He lost. There are Republicans in Congress who are basically validating this behavior of this president who is again closely engaging in a seditious act,” she added.

Appearing on “The View” earlier this month, James suggested President Trump “cannot avoid justice in the great state of New York” even with Pardons.

James said “I suspect he’ll pardon his family members, his children, his son-in-law and individuals in his administration as well as some of his close associates”

“It’s important to understand he’s pardoned from federal crimes. He is not pardoned from state crimes,” James continued “Last year I introduced a bill in the state legislature which would close the pardon loophole so that individuals such as the President of the United States would not evade justice. It’s important we have this check on presidential powers and that the legislature —the state legislature, I’m so happy they passed that bill and it’s now the law in the state of New York.”

“President Trump cannot avoid justice in the great state of New York,” she added.
