Newsom blasted after announcing new California Curfew days after attending dinner gathering himself

California governor Gavin Newsom has implemented a new curfew effective this Saturday that calls for “non-essential work, movement and gatherings” in most of the state to stop between 10pm and 5am.

Newsom tweeted “Due to the rise in #COVID19 cases, CA is issuing a limited Stay at Home Order. Non-essential work and gatherings must stop from 10pm-5am in counties in the purple tier. This will take effect at 10pm on Saturday and remain for 1 month. Together–we can flatten the curve again.”

Many Twitter users blasted Newsom, accusing him of hypocrisy. Newsom was caught recently in photos attending a posh dinner that violated his own rules.

The “purple tier” areas have this curfew in place, which as you can see, is most of the state.

After getting busted at his dinner, Newsom apologized and called it a “mistake on his part.”

Newsom also justified his failure by saying “We’re all human. We all fall short sometimes.”
