Newly elected Republican Women plan to take on “The Squad” in the House

A group of highly charismatic Republican congresswomen-elect are planning to take Congress by storm and act as a counter-weight to the progressive “squad.”

Politico profiles Reps.-elect Nicole Malliotakis (R-N.Y.), Carlos Gimenez (R-Fla.), Maria Elvira Salazar (R-Fla.), and Victoria Spartz (R-Ind.) in a new piece where the group has dubbed themselves the “Freedom Force.”

Nicole Malliotakis, a NY Republican congresswoman-elect whose mother is from Cuba said “It was a natural alliance that formed. … We understand what it’s like in other countries. We understand how truly special this nation is,” Malliotakis, whose mother is from Cuba, said. “And we look forward to working together to push back on anyone who tries to bring a socialist agenda to America.”

These four are also accompanied by new California Congresswomen elects Young Kim and Michelle Steel, both Korean immigrants who are close in real life and come from families that suffered under communist regimes.

There is also Rep.-elect Nancy Mace of South Carolina who is a staunch Trump ally, who said “I want to be different. I don’t want it to be the same old, same old. This is a new Republican Party.”

She added “we have to be different if we want to survive and be successful in the long-term.”
