New Dem Lawmaker says “A few of my Republican colleagues have called me Breonna, assuming that’s my name. It hurts.”

Progressive Democrat Cori Bush, who won her house race in Missouri said Monday some Republicans called her “Breonna Taylor” because of her mask.

“It’s Day One, so I’m wearing my “Breonna Taylor” mask,” Bush tweeted “A few of my Republican colleagues have called me Breonna, assuming that’s my name. It hurts. But I’m glad they’ll come to know her name & story because of my presence here.”

“Breonna must be central to our work in Congress,” she added.

Bush tweeted a few days earlier “The reality of being a regular person going to Congress is that it’s really expensive to get the business clothes I need for the Hill. So I’m going thrift shopping tomorrow. Should I do a fashion show?”

Rashida Tlaib responded “Cori, I still wear some of my maternity clothes under those blazers. 🤷🏾‍♀️

P.S. I get the most compliments from the clothes I got from thrift shops.”

AOC responded “Thrifting, renting, and patience as you get your closet together sis. Capsule wardrobe will be your best friend. @AyannaPressley has the accessory game down

Good news is that all these practices are very sustainable and good for the planet!”
