NAACP Chapter President “There’s no such thing as BLUE LIVES… Stop comparing your JOB with my LIFE”

In a tweet that sparked outrage, Bishop Talbert Swan, a NAACP Chapter President claimed “There’s no such thing as BLUE LIVES…”

He then added “Stop comparing your JOB with my LIFE…Your CAREER is a choice, my BLACKNESS isn’t.”

The tweet sparked a firestorm of replies, some of which Swan hid from view.

Yossi S. replied “Their JOB which is to put their LIVES at risk to protect your LIFE! #BlueLivesMatter”

Another Twitter user replied “But commiting a crime/felony and then resisting the arrest is a choice :).”

One person who agreed with Swan wrote “I agree! No one was born blue!”

Another replied to him  “It is an analogy. A descriptor. Even the phrase Black is an analogy bc no one is the color of pure black. If we want to go the color chart, the correct color is Brown. So, we can debate analogies or descriptors ad nauseam, but the correct inclusive phrase is ALL LIVES MATTER.”

In a separate recent tweet Swan writes “ALL lives can never matter until BLACK lives matter!”

Responding to a tweet from President Trump, Swan recently wrote “America was never great. No nation that murders natives, enslaves Africans, subjugates women, neglects the poor, can claim greatness. God has nothing to do with you or your wicked racist policies.”
