Michigan officials investigating GOP-led State House over possible COVID-19 violations

According to a new report from the Detroit Free Press Michigan health and safety officials are investigating the GOP-led state House of Representative for possible COVID-19 workplace violations.

Per the Detroit Free Press “Camara Lewis, a spokeswoman for the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, said Tuesday the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration received an employee complaint and initiated an investigation.”

The report adds “Lewis said the Legislature is an employer that falls under the purview of MIOSHA rules but declined to provide additional details about the investigation.”

Sunday, Whitmer responded to reports of a protest outside the home of Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson.

Whitmer wrote “Threats against our elected officials, no matter their party, are dangerous and unacceptable. This must stop. Now is the time to come together against our common enemy: COVID-19.”
