Meghan McCain, the daughter of John and Cindy McCain, has announced she’s leaving her co-hosting role at “The View” at the end of the season.
“I’m just going to rip the bandaid off,” McCain announced. “This is going to be my last season here at The View… It is not easy to leave, I just feel like it’s the right decision for me.”
“Look, COVID has changed the world for all of us and it changed the way, at least for me, the way I am looking at life,” she shared, explaining that she and her husband have moved to D.C. while the View tapes in NY City.
“I have this really wonderful life here that ultimately, I didn’t want to leave,” she continued, calling being on the show “one of the greatest” privileges.
McCain also said of her late father “He said that I could never give up an opportunity to work on such an iconic show and to work with Whoopi Goldberg — and he was right. It was one of the last things he told me to do before he died.”
In response to McCain’s announcement, co-host Joy Behar said “You and I have had our disagreements. I really, really appreciated that you were a formidable opponent in many ways and that you spoke your mind. You’re no snowflake, missy.”
