McCarthy accuses FBI of stonewalling on briefings on Swallwell’s ties to alleged spy

Wednesday, GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy accused the FBI of stonewalling briefings on Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell’s connection to an alleged Chinese Spy, Christine Fang.

McCarthy tweeted “I have asked the FBI for a briefing on Rep. Swalwell’s ties to a reported-spy from China. Twice it has been scheduled. Twice it has been canceled by the FBI.”

“Swalwell is a national security liability. This is too important for the FBI to continue to stonewall,” he added.

Last week, McCarthy argued on Fox and Friends that Swalwell should not be on the Intel Committee and is jeopardizing national security.

The GOP House Minority leader also tweeted “If you’re a Democrat Member of Congress and you vote for Nancy Pelosi for Speaker on January 3rd, you’re also voting to put Eric Swalwell back on the Intel Committee.”
