Cindy McCain endorses Biden for President, Cites ‘The Atlantic’ Article

During a virtual fundraiser, Joe Biden touted the endorsement of Cindy McCain.

“Maybe I shouldn’t say it, but I’m about to go on one of these Zooms with John McCain’s wife, who is, first time ever, is endorsing me because of what he talks about with my son and John’s who are heroes, who served their country, you know he said they’re losers, they’re suckers,” Biden revealed.

The NY Times has confirmed Cindy McCain will endorse Biden.

In explaining her decision, McCain cited the controversial piece in “The Atlantic.”

“The most important thing that moved me a great deal was talking about troops’ being ‘losers,’ Cindy McCain explained “You know we have children in the military, as did the Bidens.”

“I want my president to have my back, and I don’t believe that’s the case right now,” she added.

During a tribute played at the DNC on day 2, McCain narrated a a video about the “unlikely friendship” between her late husband and Joe Biden.

She says in the video “They would just sit and joke. It was like a comedy show, sometimes, to watch the two of them.”

McCain also tweeted last month “My husband and Vice President Biden enjoyed a 30+ year friendship dating back to before their years serving together in the Senate, so I was honored to accept the invitation from the Biden campaign to participate in a video celebrating their relationship.”
