Marvel Studio Boss Says they are Introducing a Trans Character “Very Soon”

The Disney owned Marvel Universe is about to be introduced to a trans character, according to studio boss Kevin Feige.

Asked during a Q&A session in NY if he was bringing any transgender characters into the Marvel Universe, Feige responded “Yes, absolutely yes. And very soon, in a movie that we’re shooting right now.”

DailyNews reports the president of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige has some hopeful news about LGBTQ representation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Speaking at a Q&A session with film students in New York last week, the 46-year-old creative force behind MCU, and “arguably the most successful film producer of all time,” according to The Hollywood Reporter, said that the Disney-owned studio is already working in a movie that will feature a transgender character.

Feige, who was the guest speaker at a New York Film Academy event, was asked by an audience member if Marvel currently had any “plans on bringing more LGBT+ characters into the MCU, specifically the T [as in] trans characters.”

Without missing a beat, the MCU boss responded, “Yes, absolutely yes. And very soon, in a movie that we’re shooting right now.”
