POLL: Majority blame Biden, not Trump for Taliban Takeover of Afghanistan

A new Rasmussen poll finds the majority blame Biden, not Trump for the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.

Per Rasmussen:

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters say Biden is more to blame for the Taliban taking over Afghanistan, while 38% say former President Trump is more to blame. Fifteen percent (15%) are not sure.

Attempting to deflect blame for the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan to Trump, President Biden said in his first public speech after the debacle “When I came into office, I inherited a deal that President Trump negotiated with the Taliban.”

“Under his agreement, US forces would be out of Afghanistan by 5/1/21. US Forces had already drawn down during the Trump admin from roughly 15,500 American forces to 2,500,” he added.

Biden supporter Alyssa Milano wrote “There’s a lot of blame to go around, and while I wish President Biden and his administration had handled the withdrawal better, he deserves the least amount of blame of the 4 presidents who have overseen this war. This was a war we never should have been in.”

Former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany tweeted:

Biden on Afghanistan: BLAME TRUMP! How shameful… Trump wanted to get out of Afghanistan but did not for four years because of conditions on the ground. The Taliban Takeover was on JOE’s watch!
