Lightfoot mocked for berating group at beach after failing to stop mass looting

Mayor Lori Lightfoot was mocked after she berated a group of gays outside for not social distancing just days after her city failed to stop mass looting along the Magnificent Mile commercial district.

Lightfoot called out the “reckless behavior” by tweeting “It’s called a pandemic, people. This reckless behavior on Montrose Beach is what will cause us to shut down the parks and lakefront. Don’t make us take steps backwards.”

She added “In case you were wondering, I stopped by to see for myself. It’s being addressed.”

Lightfoot then apparently followed through by erecting a fence.

Twitter users pointed out Lightfoot’s failure to stop looting.

One Twitter user wrote:

I love women in leadership (especially minorities) but Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is a disaster. In the same weekend: a shooting involving police/citizens; rioters cause millions in damages downtown; she shuts down a gay party on Montrose Beach… enough. Citizens are scared.

“Mayor Lightfoot – Just wondering if you also stopped by Downtown Chicago and the Loop last night. ‘Cuz that sure wasn’t addressed …”

Dear gay community,

In case you were wondering:

Gays peacefully sunbathing = wrong

Chicago looting & destruction = okay

Ditch the democrat party. Make the switch.

“At least they weren’t a bunch of gay people relaxing at the beach or Lori Lightfoot would have made a big public spectacle on Twitter about it”
