Latino reporter cancels his interview with Mayor Lightfoot after she refuses to end her rule of only talking to black or brown journalists

A reporter has cancelled his interview with Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot over her refusal to cancel her rule of only being interviewed by black or brown reporters.

Chicago Tribune reporter Gregory Pratt tweeted Wednesday “I am a Latino reporter @chicagotribune whose interview request was granted for today. However, I asked the mayor’s office to lift its condition on others and when they said no, we respectfully canceled. Politicians don’t get to choose who covers them.”

Mary Ann Ahern wrote Tuesday “As ⁦@chicagosmayor⁩ reaches her two year midway point as mayor, her spokeswoman says Lightfoot is granting 1 on 1 interviews – only to Black or Brown journalists”

Reporter Paris Schutz replied “I was told the same thing”

Heather Cherone of WTTW replied “I can confirm, alderman”

Civil rights icon Bob Woodson commented on the story while on Fox News and accuses Lightfoot of using racism to conquer racism.
