During a recent interview, President Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump admonished German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s migration policy, which she called “the downfall of Germany.”
“It was the downfall of Germany, it was one of the worst things that ever happened to Germany,” Trump said, when asked of Merkel’s decision to allow approximately a million migrants into the country.

Trump added, “This president knows that, he’s trying to prevent that from happening here.”
The issue of forced, mass-scale migration has plagued Europe for years, and has been increasingly compared to the growing crisis at the US-Mexico border, which continues to leave American politicians bitterly divided.
