Attempting to deflect blame for the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan to former President Trump, President Biden said “When I came into office, I inherited a deal that President Trump negotiated with the Taliban.”
“Under his agreement, US forces would be out of Afghanistan by 5/1/21. US Forces had already drawn down during the Trump admin from roughly 15,500 American forces to 2,500,” he added.

Simon Marks criticized Biden, writing “Getting into the blame game before telling the American people what’s actually going on right now at the airport.”

Kayleigh McEnany tweeted:
Biden on Afghanistan: BLAME TRUMP! How shameful… Trump wanted to get out of Afghanistan but did not for four years because of conditions on the ground. The Taliban Takeover was on JOE’s watch!
