Kamala Harris’ Own Father Slammed Her Use of “Identity Politics” Earlier this Year

With Biden’s final Veepstakes decision looming, many eyes are on Senator Kamala Harris, who is considered the frontrunner.

Earlier this year, when Harris spoke about ties between her “pot smoking” and her Jamaican heritage, her own father Donald lashed out.

It happened after Harris appeared on the popular “Breakfast Club” radio show and when asked about legalizing Marijuana, responded “Half my family is from Jamaica, are you kidding me?”

Harris’ own father did not like the identity politics of her comment.

“My dear departed grandmothers … as well as my deceased parents, must be turning in their grave right now to see their family’s name, reputation and proud Jamaican identity being connected, in any way, jokingly or not with the fraudulent stereotype of a pot-smoking joy seeker and in the pursuit of identity politics,” Harris’ father said.

“Speaking for myself and my immediate Jamaican family, we wish to categorically dissociate ourselves from this travesty.”
