BREAKING: House votes to expand gun background checks, 8 Republicans vote with Dems

Moments ago the House voted to expand gun background checks by a vote of 227-203.

Rep. Katie Porter wrote “I proudly voted for 2⃣ key gun violence prevention bills today to keep our communities safe. One implements universal background checks, and the other closes the Charleston loophole that automatically clears gun purchases if an FBI background check isn’t completed within 3 days.”

8 House Republicans voted Yes alongside Democrats on the bill.
