House Dems block unanimous consent request to re-examine taxpayer spending on foreign aid

Moments ago House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy announced that House Democrats have block Rep. Rob Wittman’s unanimous consent request to re-examine taxpayer spending on foreign aid.

McCarthy tweeted “House Republicans just moved to re-examine how we spend taxpayer dollars on foreign aid—as President @realDonaldTrump called for. Democrats blocked it.

He added “Thank you to @RobWittman for representing Republicans on Christmas Eve in the fight for the American people.”

Wednesday, House Republicans blocked Pelosi’s unanimous consent request for $2k checks.

McCarthy tweeted “Democrats appear to be suffering from selective hearing. They’ve conveniently ignored @realDonaldTrump’s call to reexamine tax dollars wasted overseas while so many Americans are struggling at home.

“Republicans will act to put America first,” he added.
