During a Friday teleconference, NY Governor Andrew Cuomo acknowledged that crime in NY is “a problem.”
Cuomo also attempted to deflect some of the blame to President Trump and cited his response to George Floyd’s death and even comments Trump made after the Charlottesville protests in 2017.
“Now, the genesis of the crime you can have a great debate about, but the Trump economy, Trump not providing COVID relief, the George Floyd murder, Trump’s response to the George Floyd murder, race relations stress, Trump, there are good people on both sides, Ku Klux Klan,” said Cuomo.
He added “So, I think Trump has some liability for the increase in the crime.”
Earlier this month, Fox News reported at 777, there have been more shootings year to date in the city than the 776 in all of 2019.
