Recently, Republican congressman Andy Barr called on his Democrat colleague, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, “to apologize for her comments” to fellow Republican lawmaker Dan Crenshaw.
Barr noted that his recently-extended offer of a visit to Kentucky for a fact finding expedition could hang in the balance, pending the apology.
“The comments made by Rep. Ocasio-Cortez demonstrate a lack of civility that is becoming far too common in the U.S. House of Representatives,” Barr wrote.

An apology would be a step toward restoring a culture of respect among Members of the U.S. House of Representatives.

On Monday, Barr doubled down, stating “At the end of the day, we all need to treat each other as colleagues, with respect.”
