Golden Globes Replace Ricky Gervais With Poehler, Fey After his Jokes Rattle “Woke” Crowd

Well, that didn’t take long.

After sparking controversy with his brutal jokes mocking Hollywood elites and “woke” culture, Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais has been officially replaced in an apparent effort to make liberals feel safe again.

Fey and Poehler hosted the Golden Globes together from 2013-2015.

FoxNews reports the announcement was made by NBC Entertainment Chairman Paul Telegdy during the network’s day at the Television Critics Association Tour in Pasadena, Calif. on Saturday.

“NBC has long been the home to two of the funniest people on the planet – Tina Fey and Amy Poehler – and we didn’t want to wait any longer to share the great news that they’ll be hosting the Globes once again,” said Paul Telegdy, Chairman, NBC Entertainment, in a press release to Fox News.

Here is one last look at some of Ricky Gervais’ best roasts in likely his last year hosting.

Ricky Gervais:

You’ll be pleased to know this is the last time i’m hosting the awards, so I don’t care anymore. Just joking. I never did.

Remember they’re just jokes. We’re all gonna die soon and there’s no sequel. Remember that.

It was a big year for pedophile movies. Surviving R. Kelly. Leaving Neverland. Two Popes. Shut up. Shut up. I don’t care.

We were gonna do an “in memoriam” this year but when I saw the people who had died. It wasn’t diverse enough. It was mostly white people and I thought nah, not on my watch. Maybe next year. We’ll see what happens.

You saw you’re woke but the companies you work for – Apple, Amazon, Disney, if ISIS had a streaming service, you’d call your agent. So if you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spend less time in school than Greta Thunberg.
