In a new Facebook post, Christian leader say this Thanksgiving he’s thankful for President Trump’s 3 conservative SCOTUS appointments.
Graham writes “This Thanksgiving I’m thankful for President Donald J. Trump’s appointment of three conservative Supreme Court justices who ruled late last night in favor of churches and against government overreach in the state of New York.”
Justice Neil Gorsuch strongly criticized the court’s previous approach. He wrote: “It is time—past time—to make plain that, while the pandemic poses many grave challenges, there is no world in which the Constitution tolerates color-coded executive edicts that reopen liquor stores and bike shops but shutter churches, synagogues, and mosques.”
May God protect our nation from the storms that are on the horizon.”
In the 5-4 majority opinion against NY Governor Andrew Cuomo’s limitations on attendance to houses of worship, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett were all decisive votes.
Gorsuch wrote “…it turns out the businesses the Governor considers essential include hardware stores, acupuncturists, and liquor stores.”
He continued “Bicycle repair shops, certain signage companies, accountants, lawyers, and insurance agents are all essential too. So, at least according to the Governor, it may be unsafe to go to church, but it is always fine to pick up another bottle of wine, shop for a new bike, or spend the afternoon exploring your distal points and meridians.”
“Who knew public health would so perfectly align with secular convenience?” Gorsuch added.
