Four Fatally Shot in Chicago Friday and Saturday

The disturbing trend of violent shooting in Chicago continued Friday with 30 shot, 4 fatally on Friday and Saturday alone.

According to CBS News, late Friday night in the Roseland neighborhood, two men and a woman were standing near 108th and Calumet, when a gunman walked up and started shooting.

Tacarrene Scott, 37, was shot in the head, and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

On the same day, a 27-year-old man was shot and killed while driving in East Garland Park by a gunman who opened fire from inside a mini van.

Saturday, four were shot, one fatally while “sitting in a vehicle on the 100 block of South Keeler Avenue.”

The 21-year-old man was shot in the back and forearm, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Earlier in the day, two women standing on the 4500 block of West Wilcox Street in West Garfield Park were shot, one fatally.

Mieya Sims, 25, was taken to the Mount Sinai Hospital but pronounced dead after being shot in the head.

In a non-fatal shooting, a 15-year-old boy was shot in the leg on the 3100 block of West Polk Street in the Lawndale neighborhood Friday at 6:45pm.
