Floyd Attorney Ben Crump refers to knife wielding teen who was shot by police as “unarmed”

Tuesday, George Floyd attorney Ben Crump tweeted “As we breathed a collective sigh of relief today, a community in Columbus felt the sting of another police shooting as @ColumbusPolice killed an unarmed 15yo Black girl named Makiyah Bryant. Another child lost! Another hashtag. #JusticeForMakiyahBryant”

Many Twitter users replied that the term “unarmed” is not accurate and Bryant appeared to be ready to kill or seriously injure another woman.

Meanwhile, NBA star LeBron James is also under fire after tweeting “YOU’RE NEXT” along with a photo of the police officer who shot and killed a teenager who police say had a knife and was about to stab someone.

LeBron later admitted deleting the tweet.

Per NBC News “Body camera video appears to show a fight when the officer arrives. Two females are in a confrontation, and one falls to the ground in front of the officer. The girl who was later shot appears to move toward another person near a car, and the officer appears to repeat, “get down” before firing four times.”
