Feinstein also tweeted “This isn’t business as usual. This hearing shouldn’t be happening. But because Republicans are intent on forcing this nominee through, Democrats will show exactly what’s at stake: a nominee who will spell the end of the ACA and imperil health insurance for millions.”
Earlier in they day she tweeted “Here’s what’s at stake today: Republicans are jamming through a Supreme Court nominee who could rip health care away from millions in the midst of a global pandemic that has killed more than 215,000 Americans. Democrats will do all we can to delay or stop this process.”

Jonathan Turley commented “Sen. Feinstein’s opening sounds more like a legislative markup hearing for the ACA. She is detailing the benefits under the ACA to a nominee who is not supposed to legislate from the bench. The best way to emphasize apolitical judging is not to try to sell a nominee on a policy.”
John Cardillo tweeted “Feinstein is trying to sell Americans on Obamacare being a good thing when they’ve experienced the crushing premium increases. Dems really think you’re dumb.”
