Dems, led by Schumer pressure Biden to cancel up to $50k in student debt “We are not going to let up until we accomplish it”

While President Biden is in favor of canceling $10,000 in student loan debt per borrower, Democrat leaders led by Chuck Schumer and Elizabeth Warren are pressuring him to cancel up to $50k.

Schumer said during a news conference “There’s very little that the president could do with the flick of a pen that would boost our economy more than canceling $50,000 in student debt.”

“This is one of those things that the president can do on his own,” he continued.

“We are not going to let up until we accomplish it,” Schumer added, claiming “It would be a huge push into our economy.”

Appearing on “Fox and Friends,” Ophelie Jacobson, a Campus Reform correspondent and student at the University of Florida student, criticized plans to cancel student debt.
