Dems fume after PA Republicans introduce election reform bill that includes stricter voter ID requirements

Democrats fumed after Pennsylvania Republicans introduced a sweeping election reform bill including stricter voter ID requirements and mail ballot signature verification.

According to Republicans the legislation aims at transforming and improving Pennsylvania’s election process to restore the integrity of and trust in elections, according to a statement from Grove’s office.

The bill is authored by state Rep. Seth Grove who said “It has a lot for everybody. It was a holistic look at the approach and said: ‘What are the best practices? What do we have now? And how do we make it better?’”

Democrat Governor Tom Wolf tweeted “The same lies that led to the assault on the U.S. Capitol are fueling efforts to silence voters across the nation. I will not let this happen in Pennsylvania. Your vote is your constitutional right, and I will do everything to protect the freedom to vote in Pennsylvania.”
