Democrat lawmaker Rep. Jared Huffman suggested stripping the tax exempt status of the church over their rebuke of abortion supporting politicians.
Huffman tweeted “If they’re going to politically weaponize religion by ‘rebuking’ Democrats who support women’s reproductive choice, then a ‘rebuke’ of their tax-exempt status may be in order.”

Last week, President Biden was asked about his reaction to leadership of the Catholic church voting “to advance the drafting of a document admonishing politicians and figures who support abortion rights like President Joe Biden and deny them from receiving communion.” The result of the vote was overwhelming with 168 in favor and only 55 against.
Rather than give a direct answer, Biden replied “that’s a private matter and I don’t think that’s going to happen.”
