D.C. Mayor Bowser declares Christmas Eve “Dr. Anthony S. Fauci Day”

Wednesday, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser tweeted “in honor of Dr. Fauci’s 80th birthday tomorrow, I proclaim Thursday, December 24, 2020, “Dr. Anthony S. Fauci Day” in Washington, DC.”

She added “we are incredibly proud to count Dr. Fauci among the many DC residents who are sacrificing so much to keep our communities healthy and safe.”

Earlier this month, appearing on the “Today” show, Dr. Anthony Fauci said he accepted Joe Biden’s offer to be a chief medical adviser “right on the spot.”

Biden told Jake Tapper Thursday he had offered Fauci the role, saying “I asked him to stay on the exact same role he’s had for the past several presidents, and I asked him to be a chief medical adviser for me as well, and be part of the COVID team.”
