Moments ago, progressive Democrat lawmaker Cori Bush introduced a bill calling for the expulsion of Republicans who supported election challenges.

Bush tweeted:

I believe the Republican members of Congress who have incited this domestic terror attack through their attempts to overturn the election must face consequences. They have broken their sacred Oath of Office.

I will be introducing a resolution calling for their expulsion.

Several of her supporters who replied to her tweeted comments of support.

Pro-Trump protesters stormed the U.S. Capitol building, shutting down Congress for the day.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said in a joint statement “We are calling on President Trump to demand that all protestors leave the U.S. Capitol and Capitol Grounds immediately.”

President Trump tweeted after the chaos began “I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order – respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”
