In a now deleted post, co-founder of BLM movement in Toronto Yusra Khogali called white people “subhuman.”
The post resurfaced when it was posted by author James Lindsay.
“Whiteness is not humxness,” reads the statement. “in fact, white skin is sub-humxn.” Khogali also says “White ppl are recessive genetic defects. this is factual. white ppl need white supremacy as a mechanism to protect their survival as a people because all they can do is produce themselves. black ppl simply through their dominant genes can literally wipe out the white race if we had the power to.”
A charming message from the head of BLM Tornoto, who has been honored (a few years ago) by the city of Ontario for exemplary leadership. pic.twitter.com/AVtj86RJZ9

Here is the full post.
In another controversial post from 2016, this one on Twitter, Khogali wrote:
“Plz Allah give me strength to not cuss/kill these men and white folks out here today. Plz plz plz.”
Khogali responded to criticism of the tweet by saying, “I am not a public official. I am not a police officer. The state does not entrust me with violent weaponry. I have never contributed to the mass targeting of a community. All I have done is used a turn of phrase, a rhetorical flourish, to voice my frustration and dared to be a person calling for justice.”
In 2016, Khogali called Canadian leader Justin Trudeau a “white supremacist terrorist.”

This tweet was reported on in the mainstream Canadian news.
In a 2017 piece for the Huffington Post called “Black Lives Matter Toronto Co-Founder Needs to Resign” James Di Fiore called for Khogali to be fired.

Here is some of the new social media backlash since the post resurfaced.
Y’all sigh and shake your head saying “nobody thinks this.” That’s your first mistake. Just look at BLM Toronto. Yusra Khogali. She declared white people are less than human. There are also quite a few “poc” who think us “poc” could run the planet better than whites ever could
